Employment Responsibilities
- Read and interpret building plans, drawings, specifications and work orders to determine job requirements, materials and construction methods.
- Select, order and prepare appropriate timber, building materials, fixtures and fittings for construction activities.
- Measure, mark, cut, shape and assemble timber and other materials accurately to required dimensions and specifications.
- Construct, erect, install and repair building frameworks and structures, including wall and roof frames, floor systems, partitions and structural components.
- Form and cut timber joints and assemble components using appropriate hand tools, power tools and woodworking equipment.
- Install doors, door frames, windows, cabinetry, fixtures, fittings, mouldings, skirting boards and other finished components.
- Install and repair internal and external timber structures and building components in accordance with plans and specifications.
Skills, experience and qualifications
- Certificate III including at least one year of relevant experience, or Certificate IV. At least 3 years of relevant experience may be accepted in place of the formal qualification.
- Relevant experience may also be required.
